Our PC Policy Explained

  1. You can use PC when forced to leave a facility after your appointment IF you are going to finish a rest break.

  2. You can use PC if an officer tells you to leave after you have been parked.  This includes any other emergency personnel directing you to move as well.  You must drive “directly” to closest next safe haven. Document who said to move

  3. You can use PC to leave the facility to go get groceries, wash clothes, go sight seeing and then return to pick up your load the next day.

  4. You can PC to a motel or restaurant.

  5. You must go to closest place, which may be in “opposite” direction of where you need to go for the next load.

  6. You can PC from yard to home.

  7. The limit is 75 miles, start looking at reserving parking spaces

  8. You can’t PC into an appointment, out yes, IF forced to leave.

  9. You can’t PC home from last drop.

  10. You can’t PC to the repair shop to have work done.

  11. You can’t use PC to complete a trip because the regular HOS ran out

  12. You can’t use PC to drive to a T/S to get fuel & then finish the day of driving.

  13. You can’t use PC and write that you are grocery shopping and then do an arrival.

  14. You can’t PC from an appointment if they let you stay to finish your HOS rest break.

  15. IF it feels like work, it probably is, and you cannot use PC.

  16. Any other scenarios will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
